Mahanayak award ceremony, 24th July, 2024
The Mahanayak award was handed over to the recipients on 24th July, 2024, at Dhana Dhanya auditorium in the eve of the death anniversary celebration of great actor Uttam Kumar. The mementos have been handed over to the awardees as an honor by the chief minister of Bengal, Manata Banerjee. The chief minister of Bengal mentioned that till the year 2023, a total of 23 actors and actresses were conferred with the Mahanayak Award.
The award ceremony was celebrated with a fabulous performance by Ragab Chatterjee, Jojo, Rupankar Banergee, and other veteran celebrities of Tollywood. A total of twelve hundred folk artists from different parts of West Bengal were present in this cultural program. The well-known singers of Bengal sang songs to pay a tribute to the Mahanayak Uttam Kumar. The chief minister offered a garland to the statue of Uttam Kumar at Mahanayak Uttam Kumar metro station.
